Among many other famous Pakistani names, Shireen Mazari PTI activist’s daughter, Imaan Mazari, also revealed that when she was a student, she was harassed by a female teacher in school.

The lawyer took to Twitter to let out her story. Tweeting out her thoughts, she said that her parents had never allowed male workers in their house. Even for Quranic teaching, they had employed a female teacher. Even during her tuitions, Imaan’s father would keep a constant check.

Here’s what Imaan shared:

Despite that, when I was in 4th standard, my female teacher who used to teach us English, took me to a private room and told me to take off my shirt, claiming she wanted see my ‘chicken pox’.

When I went back home, I was giving my parents the silent treatment, despite them constantly asking the reason for my behavior. I never told them about the incident. It was only 2 years from now, that I told them about it.

While she was telling her story about how after all the protection she had, she was still abused and how it’s not about the amount of protection given to children but the ugly mindset that people have; which spares no one.

Imaan further added:

Following what happened to me, it doesn’t surprise me what has been going on with children in recent times. No place in this country is safe for anyone.

Zainab’s case should never be forgotten. After all, how long will all of this last for? When will we see a change? These are questions only we, as a nation, can answer. The answers to these questions will show how much humanity we have got left in us.”

Those were Imaan’s heartfelt words, as she shared her own story following the horrific murder and rape of little Zainab in Kasur. She is courageous enough to open up and tell people a totally different side of harassment and how ugly it can get.
